Travel from Charlotte, North Carolina to Chicago, Illinois
That 3:40 alarm came quick but I was super impressed with how well we handled it. We were up, brushed our teeth, and brought our luggage down to the lobby in less than 15 minutes.
The hotel's shuttle began running at 4:00a and we needed to be on the first one. It was tight timing. We made it to the airport and through security, and to the gate with just 2 minutes until boarding.
We landed in Chicago shortly after 6:00a and found our pre-arranged taxi for the hour drive home.
To say we were exhausted by time we got home was an understatement. On top of it all, I had taken Dramamine before both flights and was groggy. We all napped and relaxed the rest of the day.

John and the kids bounced back fairly quickly. I, however, was dealing with "land-sickness" for a week.
Unfortunately, that ran straight into an unrelated illness.
It is only now, as I write this more than two weeks after we got home, that I am finally feeling back to normal.
