We've been planning this trip since we returned from our Civil War Ancestors Road Trip in 2017, as a Revolutionary War version of the same. We've settled on this tentative itinerary and have started booking rooms for Summer 2019.
Day 1: Drive to Avon, Ohio. Hotel for the night.
Day 2: Drive. See Susan B. Anthony's grave. Drive to Syracuse, New York. Hotel for night.
Day 3: Drive. See Canajoharie Creek. Drive to Woburn, Massachusetts. Hotel for 2 nights.
Day 4: See Salem, Witch Trials sites, Boston.
Day 5: See Boston. View fireworks from MIT campus. Drive to Everett, Massachusetts. Hotel for night.
Day 6: See Lexington & Concord, and Plymouth Rock. Drive to East Warwick, Rohde Island. Hotel for night.
Day 7: Drive to New York. Visit The Met (Washington Crossing the Delaware painting). Drive to Newark, New Jersey. Hotel for night.
Day 8: See Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Delaware River (where Washington crossed). Drive to Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Hotel for the night.
Day 9: See Philadelphia sights, Independence Hall. Drive to Exton, Pennsylvania. Hotel for the night.
Day 10: See Valley Forge. Drive to DC. See Lincoln Memorial. Drive to Arlington, Virginia. Hotel for 2 nights.
Day 11:See DC sights.
Day 12: See Mount Vernon, Yorktown, and Jamestown. Drive to Williamsburg, Virginia. Hotel for night.
Day 13: Drive to Charleston, West Virginia. Hotel for night.
Day 14: Drive to Sandusky, Ohio. Hotel for 2 nights.
Day 15: At Cedar Point.
Day 16: Drive home.
I am hoping to make time for some more family history research to tie into the Revolutionary War sites on this trip before we go. But it is coming up quick!
