Delavan 2007 Trip Report

September 21-23

This weekend we took a mini-vacation, a weekend getaway, to The Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin to celebrate our 2nd Wedding Anniversary (and 3 years of being in love).

We discussed a few options for this getaway and decided that we really needed to have a short drive since John would not be able to get out of work early on Friday. So, we found this place which was just an hour and a half drive and it had everything we were looking for, plus a great package deal (it was just $399 for 2 nights, breakfast both mornings and a steak dinner on our anniversary). We were very happy with the resort and the package deal we got and we had a really nice time.

We left on Friday evening after John got home (and we received the delivery of new fertility meds I would bee to inject over the weekend). It was dark by time we checked in, so we just explored the inside of the resort a bit and then retired to our room for the night.

We celebrated our Anniversary with a mellow day of sightseeing. We visited The Yerkes Observatory and Lake Geneva and then headed back to the resort for a dip in the hot tub before dinner. We had a delicious steak dinner and walked by the lake at sunset before picking up our chocolate covered strawberries for dessert (it's become a tradition now – we had them at our wedding and on our first anniversary, as well).
